The Art of Advocating for Your Child with Down Syndrome - Class 6

Date / Time
6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Keystone Church
3375 Saline Waterworks Rd
SALINE, Michigan 48176

Advocating for a child with disabilities is hard.  Advocating for your child with Down syndrome is even harder.  No matter what we do as parents, we always feel like we aren’t doing enough.  It takes much more than gathering records and facts to successfully advocate for your child.  It’s “a fine art” and takes skill to advocate while making progress.

Let your tribe members Victoria Martinez and Misty Kluck help you learn how to successfully use resources, respond to disagreements, write letters that make an impact and solve problems creatively.  Both ladies have been where you are in your advocating path.  Let them help you skip over some of the confusion and give your brain a life preserver.  (We all know your brain is swimming with advocacy laws and information.)  Get the answers you need!

This will be a monthly meeting for the total of 8 months on the last Friday of each month.  Each month you will learn a key advocating skill.  Please be sure to make all meeting if you can.  Each one of the meetings will be packed with pertinent information needed throughout your child’s school career.  What you do now will continue to affect them for years to come even if you move out of state.  First come, first serve.  Spaces are limited.
