2021 DSST BUDDY WALK REGISTRATION WILL OPEN IN LATE JULY
Each year, the National Buddy Walk Program touches thousands of lives. When the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) created it in 1995, there were walks in 17 cities. This year, over 300 Buddy Walk events will be held with more than 310,000 people expected to participate. The Buddy Walk is a one-mile walk in which anyone can participate without special training. It is a wonderful, heart-warming event that celebrates the many abilities and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome. Whether you have Down syndrome, know someone who does, or just want to show your support, come and join a Buddy Walk in your local community.
When: Sunday, September 26th
Where: Gallup Park (3000 Fuller Rd. Ann Arbor)
Time: Walk @ 3pm (Day of Registration available at 1:30pm)
Our Buddy Walk is back for 2021! It will look a bit different, but we can still gather to raise funds and awareness for individuals with Down Syndrome in our community. We will still do our 1-mile walk, but your group/family can walk at any time during the event. Individually packaged snacks and drinks will be provided. We will have tables and chairs as usual, but please feel free to bring a picnic blanket if you’d like. We will have our traditional Raffle Baskets this year along with a new 50/50 Raffle. We are taking a break from our Silent Auction as many of the businesses that provide goods are struggling. Leonardo will be providing musical entertainment. We look forward to seeing you!
